March 2007 CROSSING BOUNDARIES, South African Artist, Carien Quiroga’s first solo show in the USA. Her experiences as a woman form an intrinsic part of her artistic consciousness & she explores her strong, multifaceted bond with her native country and the impact of her transplant to a new one. Crossing conceptual and material boundaries, she integrates wood, metal, glass and found materials, challenging the limitations and the conventions of the materials and techniques she uses. The show was accompanied by an Artist's talk and a studio demonstration
